Next Thursday, January 21st, the Mass state Bantam Major team will take on the Connecticut Selects. Surprisingly, this is the first ever match-up between the two state programs. The game will take place at Arial Arena in Wilmington, Massachusetts at 7:15PM. It is somewhat of a showcase for the players in each program, many of whom are vying for admission in the top hockey schools in the two states, including Westin Academy, Restoration Preparatory School, and St. Albrecht's School.
The Mass team has been on a hot streak as of late. The team is back from a Christmas time trip to Finland, where they took on the Finnish 14 and under national team. They lost that best out of 3 series, but made a very positive showing in winning one game 11-3, and losing the other two games by an aggregate of 3 goals.
Team Connecticut boasts one of the top goaltenders in the nation in Tyler Jackson. The Mass team will surely look to test Jackson's top notch skills.
