Ryan Amarone makes save v. Simsbury
Ryan Amarone turned away  21 shots in posting another shut-out for the Green Dragons against upstate rival Simsbury.  Senior Co-Captain John Teulings scored two goals for Hamden and Junior Jim Burt had three assists to lead the 8-3-1 Hamden squad.  Senior Co-Captain PJ Vakos scored as did Adam Devine, & Nick Amarone for Hamden.

Teulings put Hamden up at the 3:16 mark of the first on a hard slap shot from the point.  CJ Carignan and Burt had the helpers.  Devine then banged one home on a scrum in front of Freshman netminder John Ryan for Simsbury.  Devine, a whirling dervish, lived up to this moniker on this goal as he spun around as the shot went in the net.

The teams entered the second period with Hamden up 2-0.  Both Ryan Amarone and John Ryan were superb in net in the second.  The Simsbury frosh held Hamden to no scores in the second as he made a total of 41 saves during the game.  One save he made in the third was a beauty on Burt coming down the middle of the ice.

The Green Dragons broke the game open in the third with Teulings scoring at the 3:26 mark on assists from Devine 7 Burt.  The PJ Vakos made a hellacious tip of a low, hard shot by Paul Amarone at the 4:01 mark.  Paul Amarone and Burt had assists on the goal.  And Nick Amarone finished Hamden's scroing on assists by Ryan Berton and Tim Lee at the 5:06 mark.

 

Justin MacGregor had another outstanding game for Hamden and picked up an assist on Devine's first period goal.
